Founded in June 2006, the Vox Animae vocal ensemble brings together 26 singers from the Neuchâtel region to perform an a capella repertoire that is rarely performed in Switzerland. Their favourites range from the Renaissance to the present day, with an emphasis on double choir and 8-voice songs. In 2007 Vox Animae won the 1st prize at the USC choral competition in Solothurn. In 2011, it also won the 1st prize at the Fribourg competition and in 2014 Vox Animae shone at the Zwickau international competition (Germany), winning two gold diplomas. In July 2016, it won a silver medal at the International Choral Festival of Preveza (Greece) and the magnificent Special Prize for the best programme. In addition to his many concerts in Switzerland, he also obtained two gold diplomas at the Kalamata Festival (Greece) in 2019.
Born on 15 July 1961, Mr. Bernard Guye began studying piano at the age of 6. Choral activity: He directed the Madrigal du Landeron from 1991 to 2000, winning several prizes and the Aurore du Landeron (men's choir) from 1998 to 2006. He founded the Octonote octet and the vocal ensemble Vox Animae in 2006. He also directs Acapel'hom (men's choir) and the Choeur du Van since 15 years. He chaired the SCCN cantonal music committee from 1998 to 2013 and was artistic director of the FCIN, Neuchâtel's international choral festival, for the final 4 editions (2008 to 2014). Since 2000, he has been regularly called upon as a member of the jury for girons, regional and cantonal singing festivals, 2011 for the international festival in St Petersburg (Russia) and 2015 for the Swiss federal festival in Meiringen.
