EVE was founded in 2008 by their conductor, a high school music teacher who wanted to offer something extra to interested music students at Egaa Gymnasium, Aarhus, Denmark. Today the choir consists of 30 singers, youngsters between 16 and 24 and now also includes former students as well as singers from outside the school. EVE sing a broad repertoire of classical, rhythmic and folk music and performs at many different events such as church concerts, football events, choir competitions. In 2017 and 2019 EVE participated in 3rd and 4th European Choir Games and won gold diplomas and in 2018 they reached the finals in Denmark’s Got Talent. Conductor Birgitte Næslund Madsen has degrees in Music and English and as a conductor she has specialised in choral work with children and young people. She is the founder of several junior and youth choirs, among them Junior EVE and the youth choir Aarhus U, and she also works for the youth talent programme at The Danish National Opera and gives workshops for choral organizations in Denmark and abroad.
