Scherzo Chamber Choir

The present members of our choir have been working together since autumn 2014. Most of our singers have had significant choir experience. We are a niche choir as we embrace people of different age groups from secondary school students to retired people. Our primary aim is to create value and to experience community feeling through singing. Though we are a new group, we put great emphasis on singing together wtih other amateur choirs. We perform at different cultural events in our city and we also endeavor to set up and thrive our repertoir. We are very enthusiastic about the festival in Namestovo and really looking forward to it.

Erika Závori got her degree in choral conducting in 2004 at the Lorand Eotvos University in Budapest in the class of Zsuzsánna Mindszenty. She continued her studies in the city of Pécs. She got the second place at the National Academic Students’ Conference in the category of vocalist.She was the soloist of the Musica Nostra Vocal Ensemble for almost ten years. She debutted in 2002 as the conductor of an adult mixed choir, which she is still doing. She has been in charge of the music scene of the Janos Bolyai Secondary School since 2004. After giving birth to two children, she has been conducting the Scherzo Mixed Choir in its current lineup since autumn 2014.
