The Evander High youth choir was established by Trinka Combrinck in1995. BMUS.( HONORS- studies in ethnomusicology, musicology and “African Musicology”) The choir started as a schoolchoir and eventually turned into the school’s youth choir inviting talented learners from all schools in the Highveld Ridge area to join the choir. The choir is now called the Highveld Ridge Regional youth choir since 2014. The choir has done international concert tours and competitions since 2002, touring Germany, Austria,Italy France, Slovenia, Poland, Hungary, Chech Slovakia, Greece and Egypt: * Concert tour to Germany and Austria 2002 *International Bela Bartok 2006-Hungary – Selected as an “invited” Category A choir, by the Board of the Bela Bartok festival,with all expen- ses paid on invitation. The choir was selected on aesthetic value. They ended in semi-finals in the formal section for youth choirs with compulsory works and received a diploma in the folklore section. * World choir Games in Austria 2008 -447 choirs Participated - *First place silver category- Semi-finals and 11th place overall from 46 choirs Category for mixed choirs) *Summa Cum Laude Vienna International choir And orchestra festival and competition 2013 - second place in category for mixed choirs *Concerts in Venice,Slovenia, Prague and Euro Disney 2015- International advent competition Bratsla Via. *and festival in Melk Abbey- Vienna.
