Highveld Ridge Regional Choir

The Evander High youth choir was established by Trinka Combrinck in 1995. BMUS. The choir started as a schoolchoir and eventually turned into the school’s youth choir inviting talented learners from all schools in the Highveld Ridge area to join the choir. The choir is now called the Highveld Ridge Regional youth choir since 2014. The choir has done international concert tours and competitions since 2002, touring Germany, Austria,Italy France, Slovenia, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Greece and Egypt.

Catharina Combrinck

Conductor / Leader

Catharina Combrinck is a specialist in musicology, ethnomusicology African musicology. She also studied languages and pedagogic, and is a full time language teacher and a director of a music school. She also conducts the Highveld Ridge Youth Choir in Mpumalanga, South Africa. Over years, the choir has also been involved in many stage productions and musicals under Trinka’s directorship and will hopelfully also engage into a production of the Messiah Oratorio (G.F. Händel) in 2016.
