Mixed choir SPD «JEDINSTVO» Banja Luka is one of the oldest choirs in Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was founded in 1893 and in its history has realised more than thousand performances on many concerts and other cultural events. Mixed choir SPD «JEDINSTVO» has confirmed its high artistic domains on many concerts and contests in former Yugoslavia as well as abroad , which was confirmed by numerous awards and recognitions. In last ten years Mixed choir SPD «JEDINSTVO», in addition to everything else, won: Republic of Srpska – the first prize on Vidovdan Festival in Banja Luka in 1994, Yugoslavia - first prizes at the Yugoslav choral competition in Nis in 1994, 1996, 1998 and in 2000 Italy - two golden medals at the International competition in Italy (Riva del Garda) in 2001, Italy - gold medal at International Competition in Italy (Camerino) 2002 etc. It is very important to mention participation at the sacred music festivals in: Yugoslavia - Belgrade and Novi Sad in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 and in 1998 Yugoslavia - at the festival «Days of Mokranjac» in Negotin in 1996 and in 2001 Greece - at the festival of choirs from Balkan, Argos Orestiko, in 1997, 2000 and in 2004 Slovakia, at the Festival in Vranov nad Toplou, 2000, Republic of Srpska - at the festival «Ducic's poetry evenings» in Trebinje in 1999 and in 2000, Greece - "O elefteria" in Drama , 2002, Republic of Srpska – Prijedor, 2004 – competition „ Zlatna vila“ / the first prize and the golden medal Greece – Preveza /2005. - International Competition of Sacred Music/ golden medal China – Xiamen/2006.- 4th Choir Olympics/ golden medal Slovakia – Bratislava/ Competition Musica Sacra 2007/ the first prize and the golden medal ,Malta/Competition Musica Sacra 2009 /golden medal Republic of Srpska – Prijedor, 2013 – competiotion „Zlatna vila“ / first prize of the public Italy, Venezia, 2014 – international competition „Venezia in musica“, first prize in two cathegories and two golden medals Repertoire of the choir is very wide and it includes spiritual and secular works of the native and other composers from medival to contemporary period as well as folclore pieces from the whole region of ex Yugoslavia and their newer versions. The choir has recorded many radio and television broadcasts and four compact discs until now.
Nemanja Savić - Conductor was born in Banja Luka. He graduated on the University of Belgrade where he obtained both a BSc and a MSc in the conducting department. He has worked as music pedagogue and conductor in many places in former Yugoslavia. Today he works as teacher and director of a Music School, both primary and secondary, in Banja Luka, as professor at Academy of Arts in Banja Luka, as conductor of the Mixed Choir SPD "JEDINSTVO" and as conductor of the Mixed Choir of University in Banja Luka. As conductor of the choir Mr Nemanja Savić has conducted concerts in many cities in the former Yugoslavia, Italy, France, Switzerland, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Slovakia,China, Bulgaria, Russia...He had received many recognitions for his work and more then thirty prizes on the choral competitions.
