The youth choir of the Maks Pečar Primary School comprises children aged 10 to 15 and is an integral part of the school's extracurricular activities. Despite varying levels of musical knowledge among participants, they all share a common passion for singing and musical creativity. Regularly engaging in cultural performances within the local community and at the school itself, the youth choir collaborates biannually with the school's children's choir for broader audiences. Demonstrating consistent excellence, the choir has been a participant in regional and national choir competitions for many years, unfailingly earning gold awards, and at times receiving gold awards with distinction. Notably, at the Slovenian regional competition in 2017, the choir not only garnered various awards but also secured the accolade for the best youth choir. In 2018, the choir was featured in the concert titled "Traveling Music" (Potujoča muzika), a national project held every two years that exclusively showcases the best and selected youth choirs from Slovenia. Recognized for their exceptional work, the choir has been invited twice to perform at a choirmaster seminar as an exemplary choir. This marks the choir's second participation in the International Youth Music Festival in Bratislava, promising yet another enriching experience for all involved.
