The Youth Vocal-Instrumental Ensemble Lusatia Consort was founded at the ZUŠ Cvikov in 1996, initially as a flute ensemble. However, in the new millennium, its members joined forces with singers and players of various musical instruments, sometimes even historical ones (violin, guitar, bagpipes, drum, accordion, clarinet, and cornamuse). On their journeys, the members visited 13 countries in Europe. In 2013, the group received the 1st prize at the international youth festival in Neerpelt, Belgium. In 2015, they became laureates of the Czech Radio competition "Concerto Bohemia," and in 2016, they were awarded the Radio Kujawsko-Pomorzanskie Prize in Bydgoszcz, Poland. They founded their own international multi-genre festival called BARABANFEST. The ensemble performs music of various styles, including repertoire from the medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods, as well as ethnic (folk) and film music.
Štěpán Přenosil, a teacher at ZUŠ Cvikov, has been leading the ensemble since its inception. He is actively involved in the medieval band Řemdih, which has been active since 1989 to the present day.
