The Youth Choir of the Primary School Ferdo Vesel Šentvid pri Stični comes from a small Slovenian town, Šentvid pri Stični, known as the cradle of Slovenian choral singing. For 50 years, thousands of Slovenian choir singers from all over the country and abroad have been gathering there once a year to sing together at a mass concert. Besides their youthful vivacity and friendship, our choir members also share the joy and love for polyphonic singing. Our choir performs at school and local events and conducts annual concerts. In collaboration with the school drama and dance groups, we have already staged a couple of musicals. Moreover, the choir has achieved some great successes in various competitions. In May 2017, our choristers successfully performed at the regional choral competition and received a golden recognition award with distinction, together with two other recognitions. The greatest success has been achieved last year when the choir won the first place at the national competition of Slovenian youth choirs in Zagorje ob Savi and received three recognition awards, one being golden with distinction.
