Nahariya Youth Band

Over the years, hundreds of pupils have studied and performed with the Nahariya Youth Band, since its inception in 1973. The band is part of the municipal conservatory. The Wind Band is, forsooth, the jewel in the conservatory’s crown. Mr. Arie Kfi r (1951-2014), a navy veteran and a graduate of the Rubin Academy of Music in Tel-Aviv, Founded the Nahariya Youth Wind Band in 1973 and has been its permanent conductor until 2014. The orchestra is well represented in the National Youth Band, AICF grants, and many of our graduates were accepted to the IDF Orchestra. A large number of our graduates have chosen a career in music, and are seen playing in some of Israel’s most professional orchestras. The Municipal Wind Band takes an active part in special occasions in the city of Nahariya and in the rest of the country, and participate at international concerts and competitions. In 2016, The orchestra won a 2nd place award at the Schladming „Mid Europe“ festival.
