Collegium vocale Celje was established in autumn 2011, but the choir has already been active for 21 years under a different name – Chamber Choir Emanuel - and the majority of members have remained the same. Its conductor has been Bernarda Preložnik Kink. In these 21 years they have organized many concerts all over Slovenia, which attracted a lot of attention. They have gone on tours to foreign countries and achieved excellent results in choir competitions: silver plaque (competition Naša pesem (»Our song«) in 1997, International Franz Schubert choir competition in 1998), two victories at regional competitions – 2004 and 2006, gold plaques at international competitions in Grado (Italy) in 2003 and Prague (the Czech Republic) in 2006. Collegium vocale Celje won the gold plaque at the regional competitions (2011, 2015). In May 2012 they participated in the international competition »Venezia in musica 2012« in Venice and competed in two categories and received a gold plaque in both of them. With their high quality work they have left a mark in the area of choral activity in Celje and Slovenia. The singers and the choir conductor have been brought together by the love of vocal music and the desire for high-quality artistic creation. Their goal is harmonious and timbre-consistent vocal expression which preserves the natural vocal timbre which is supported by basic laws of vocal technique.
