Hugo Lambrechts Symphony Orchestra

The Hugo Lambrechts Symphony Orchestra is made up of students and teachers of the Hugo Lambrechts Music Centre. The HLSO, under the baton of Liam Burden, has enjoyed a busy year performing at various concerts in the Hugo Lambrechts Auditorium and at various other festivals including the Greyton/Genadendal Classics For All Music Festival and the Tulbagh Arts Festival. The HLSO has, in the recent past, performed with soloist such as Zanne Stapelberg and collaborated with the Suidoosterfees. The annual highlight of the year for the HLSO is the Hugo Lambrechts Concerto Festival. This festival gives young soloists from around the country the opportunity to audition to perform a concerto with a symphony orchestra. This year saw more than 50 students auditioning, of which 12 were successful.
