Chamber Choir "441Hz" was established in 2006 on the initiative of students in the Academy of Music in Gdańsk. Usually, it runs an extensive concert activity in order to promote contemporary music. It performed in Italy and Germany, as well as organized concerts within the framework of the artistic exchange with choral ensembles from Sweden and the Czech Republic. The choir is the winner of awards on the national as well as international choral competitions. One of the recent successes of the “441 Hz” Chamber Choir is the Grand Prix of the 13th International Festival of Choir Music by Felix Nowowiejski in Barczewo (2014), Gold Medal and the 1st place at the 2nd International Gdansk Choir Festival (2013), the 1st place in category A (choirs with a high artistic level) at the 21st Stanislaw Orminski International Festival of Sacred Music in Rumia (2009) and Gold Medal at the 3rd International Festival Mundus Cantat in Sopot (2007). The ensemble has recorded two albums. Initially, a live recording made during the graduation concert of composition student, Krzysztof Zimmermann, was released on the album on the 60th anniversary of the Academy of Music in Gdansk in 2007. Subsequently, Serioso- Giocoso concert recording featuring contemporary compositions of modern musical language was released in 2012. In March 2013, the ensemble performed as a training choir at the 1st All-Polish Contemporary Choral Music Seminar and Workshop directed by Prof. Bart Bouckaert (Belgium). As a result of cooperation with the Aleksander Węgierko Drama Theater in Białystok, the choir participated in the premiere of "Antyhona". The play was staged within the framework of Another Dimension festival. In November 2013, the choir "441Hz" together with the excellent vocal ensemble Neue Vocalsolisten (Stuttgart) presented the first performance of Karol Nepelski's composition at the "Voice in Action" workshop.
The choir has been conducted by Anna Wilczewska, a double laureate at the All-Polish Choir Conducting Competitions in Poznań (2006, 2008) and a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Furthermore, she was rewarded with the "Sopot Muse for Young Creators" (2011) as well as the Pomeranian Voivodeship Marshal Scholarship (2014). Along with the choirs that she run, Anna has won a number of awards at the all-Polish and international choir competitions. The most significant of them were Grand Prix at the International Festival of Advent and Christmas Musicin Prague with the Mixed Choir of the Faculty of Choir Conducting, Music Education and Eurhythmics of the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk and Grand Prix at the All-Polish Passion Songs Festival in Kielno with the Sopot Chamber Choir "Continuo" (2011). The latter choir was awarded with Gold Diploma and the 1st prize at the Marian Song Festival "Ave Maria" in Chojnice, while Anna received an award for the best conductor. Since 2008 she has worked at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, by which she was awarded a PhD in conducting in 2013. The same year she started working at the Feliks Nowowiejski Secondary Music School in Gdańsk as a conductor of the Cantilena Mixed Voice Choir.
