Our school – Ludvik Pliberšek Primary School Maribor – is the biggest in Maribor and known for many different activities. In the range of extra activities there are three choirs, two infant ones and a youth choir. The youth choir independently performs three times every year. They also participate in regional reviews and carry up to twenty-five performances for the needs of our town and the region. In the recent years they have been recording their works at the local radio station. Two years ago the youth choir took part at the state competition at Zagorje ob Savi and became one of the best Slovenian Primary School's youth choir. In 2003 and 2004 on the competition in Olomouc, they were awarded with a bronze and two silver medals in two categories. In the spring time of 2012 the choir recorded the first independent CD with the songs for kids – about animals. The CD was published by one of the biggest publishers in our country. In the same year (in May 2012) the choir performed the international choir contest in Bratislava in the Slovak Republic; they won the silver medal. In 2014 the choir won the silver medal as well at the International choir contest in Olomouc.
