Children choir Rošťák was established in 2003 at the Elementary School (ZšMn) in Přelouč. Name Rošťák is based on the city symbol (black grate in a golden field). Since 2006 it works at the Music School in Přelouč. Choir annually performes numerous concerts in hometown and nearby, formed a partnership with the Slovak choir Vodopád from Banska Bystrica, works with famous people, such as a Christmas concert with Ms Eva Pilarová or the project with the Children of Elbe, performances with a famous German singer Rolf Zuckovski, Czech singer-songwriter Peter Skoumal, or Magda Reifová and other Czech and German choirs. Choir attends many competitions and festivals like Zahrada písní in Prague, The Christmas Festival of Sacred Music with Petr Eben prize, Prague Christmas or Festival of Songs Olomouc, where Rošťák won the gold medals. The choir has a repertoire of folk songs, spiritual songs, songs of old and new composers, spirituals, songs from musicals and popular songs.
Anna Pokorná is a student of Faculty of Education in Hradec Kralove. In 2015 she studied choral conducting and piano at the National Pingtung Universtity in Taiwan. She loves singing, dancing and playing musical instruments, especially the piano, saxophone, flute and organ. Besides conducting the choir she also loves creating music with children of different ages. She has been leading choirs Rošťák and Plamen from Přelouč for two years now.
