Nathaniel D. Duvuvuei

Nathaniel D. Duvuvuei received his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Alderson-Broaddus University where he studied voice with Lillian Long and Maureen McKay. Later, he graduated from the University of Akron with a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting Performance under the guidance of Dr. Samuel Gordon. Mr. Duvuvuei also served as graduate teaching assistant to Laurie Lashbrook with whom he studied voice. Mr. Duvuvuei is an accomplished vocalist and conductor who has performed throughout Europe and the United States. His numerous solo performances include appearances with the Ashland Symphony Orchestra, Akron University Orchestra, Coro Festival in Tolosa, Spain and the Mozart Festival in Salzburg, Austria. As a member of A cappella Nuance, an a cappella vocal jazz ensemble, Mr. Duvuvuei won first place in the Seghizzi 45th Concorso Internazionale di Canto Corale in Gorizia, Italy. Mr. Duvuvuei also performs with the professional choir, Singers Companye. He has performed several concert tours of Europe. Most recently, he was conductor at the 8th Annual Cantemus Choral Conducting Master Course in Nyiregyhaza, Hungary. Mr. Duvuvuei has served as Director of Choral Studies and Music Department Chair of the Ashland City Schools and Director of Vocal Activities of the Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts. Currently, he is Artistic Director for the Hudson Community Choruses, Associate Director of Singers Companye and Fine Arts Administrator for the Akron Public Schools.
