The SEPTEMTHILLIS Youth Choir was established in 1989 within Elementary School of Arts in Lipany, Slovakia (ZUŠ). Since its establishment the choir has been conducted by Gabriela Pintérová and thanks to her commitment and enthusiasm it has reached a high artistic level. The choir has 30 members – boys and girls aged 11 to 18. Within the ZUŠ works also preparatory choir attended by younger children and conducted by Katarína Cvancigerová, who is a vocal pedagogue for Septemthillis. Jozef Lazorík is the corepetitor for both choirs. Miroslav Lenko is in charge of the choir’s arrangements. Septemthillis performs at different educational, occasional or public concerts in Slovakia and abroad, the choir has been awarded at international music festivals in Belgium, Poland, Italy and Spain. In 2012 Septemthillis completed a joint concert tour with Brazilian Female Choir Cantilena in 5 cities in Brazil. In 2014 Septemthillis performed with the Musica Iuvenale Orchestra and Slovak singer celebrities. The choir’s repertoire includes folklore music, Gregorian choral, polyphony, contemporary music and musicals, both “a capella” and with accompaniment of the piano, contrabass, percussions, violin, flute, guitar and saxophone.
