Ajka Teachers’ Female Choir is a group of vivacious women who love singing. The choir is from Hungary from Ajka town. The chorus has been frequent participant choir meetings and festivals in Hungary. Several times they have taken successfully part of performances abroad and they haveachieved success choral competitions as well. They have been to Transylvania, Finnland, France, Italy, Austria, Netherlands, Germany, Slovakia and Czech Republic. At World Choir Games in Graz in 2008 they got silver diploma. They regularly participate at the events of Europa Cantat. Their presen classification is concert and festival choir. Their wide-ranging repertoire consists of both clerical andsecular music from gregorians to the choral songs of 21st century. With 40 years of history the members of the choir hope that they can motivate and persuade younger generations to sing in a choir.They sing to make others happy but for their own pleasure as well, so that they can preserve theprecious moments of joy in our everyday lives, to protect the peace of the soul. The conductors of the choir are Éva Petheő and Csilla Cserháti.
Éva Petheő earned her music degree from the University of Pecs,majoring in singing,music and choir conducting. She is ther founding of the Ajka Teachers’ Female Choir. In addition her work as a choir master she organizes and manages the" Singing Youth" country competitions held annually by KOTA and as a jury member, she professionally evauletes the work of primary and secondary school choirs. Csilla Cserháti founding member of the Ajka Teachers’ Female Choir, first as a singer and then as a conductor. She completed her music studies at the University of Pécs. As a teacher, she taught primary and secondary school students and led a children's choir.
