The Children’s Choir “Armonia” of Preveza was founded in 1983 by the conductor Mr Andronikos Kourouklis and it is a section of the Choral Society “Armonia” of Preveza. During its existence the choir has been awarded 3 first, 2 second and 2 third prizes in International Choral Competitions (Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Poland) and it has also been awarded twice as the best Greek Children’s choir in the International Choral Festival of Athens. Choir regularly performs in festivals both in Greece ( Athens, Patras, Thessaloniki, etc., Olympic Games ATHENS 2004) and abroad (International Choral Festival “Aram Khatsaturian” in Haskovo (Bulgaria, 2003), International Festival in Rome (Italy, 2008), Easter Festival of Moscow (Russia, 2017) “Eurochestries International Festival” (France 2024), while it has participated in premiers of works and cooperated with renowned orchestras and soloists. Since 1994, the choir has been directed by Aneliya Stefanova.
Anelia Stefanova, born in 1964 in Kazanlak, Bulgaria, graduated in 1986 from the Academy of Music and Dance Art in Plovdiv, specializing in Music Pedagogy under renowned conductors Krickor Tsetinian and Ivan Spassov. She began her career teaching at the “Antim I” School in Kazanlak, where she initiated recognized choral programs and directed the Children’s Choir “Iskra.” After completing a postgraduate specialization in 1991, she moved to Greece in 1994 and took over the award-winning Children’s Chorus “Armonia” of Preveza. She has since collaborated with orchestras across Europe on major choral works and founded several youth choirs in Epirus. An active participant in choral festivals, seminars, and competitions, she completed postgraduate studies at the Ionian University in 2016 and is currently a doctoral candidate in Children’s and Youth Choir at the same institution.
