Competition rules

This competition is for amateur choirs. Conductor of the choir can be a professional musician.
Choirs have to send a recording in electronic format (a file or a link) together with the application until January 31st 2023 to the address: info@choral-music.sk

Participation conditions

The registration fee of a choir: 1 contest category makes 250 EUR, each next contest category makes 200 EUR.

The choirs will sing according to drawing lots without a sound check.

All competition compositions must be sacred.

Obligatory compositions for category "S":

• Chorus from the period of Renaissance or Baroque

• Chorus from the period of Romanticism (19th Century)

Duration: 15 minutes
2 compositions a capella are compulsory, the other program can by accompanied with piano for choirs.

Diplomas

International jury consists of the professionals in the field of music. The decisions of the jury are beyond dispute. According to the jury's decision the choirs may be awarded Golden Band, Silver Band or Bronze Band.

Prizes:
1st place – 250, 200 and 150 EUR (based on category type)

Accommodation and Board

Each choir including the conductor, accompanying people and bus drivers shall pay its own travel expenses, expenses on accommodation and food.

Fee for each member
35Eur /1 person
Free board / Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner, Sunday breakfast.
The fee must be paid one month before arrival.

Transport
Transport will be at the charge of the choir participant.
