The students in the 2019 St Peter’s College Choir is a group formed for the purposes of the school’s 2019 Music Tour of Europe. The boys range from age 12 - 16 and have been rehearsing since only February of this year. Some students have been singing in the Schools Choral program for numerous years, while others are new to choral singing this year. Boys have been working together before and after school and on weekends to prepare their repertoire and learn new choral skills.
Andrew Chatterton completed his music studies at the Elder Conservatorium and has since performed regularly both nationally and internationally. As Choral Coordinator at St Peter's College, Andrew oversees the school's choral program and directs five choirs across the Junior and Senior Schools. Appointed Director of the Flinders University Choral Society in 2004, Andrew conducted the choir in performances for six years. As Assistant Director of Music at St Peter's Cathedral, Andrew has conducted the St Peter's Cathedral Choir in performances around Australia and on tour in the United Kingdom, Italy and France. Andrew has been the Adelaide Harmony Choir’s Director of Music since 2016 and has conducted the choir in performances of major works with orchestra including The Creation by Joseph Haydn (2016), John Rutter's When Icicles Hang (2016), Johannes Brahms’ Elijah (2017), regular performances of Handel's Messiah, and Cantatas BWV 78, 140 and 150 by J.S. Bach (2018). In 2019 Andrew directed the choir in a successful performance tour across China.
