Every 3 years Saint Peter’s College and Wilderness School combine and head overseas for their tri-cyclic music tour. The students in the 2019 St Peter’s and Wilderness School Chamber Group ‘Vivente’ are 14 and 15 years old and have been rehearsing since only February of this year. The opportunity to rehearse with this trio has been a wonderful experience for both schools and this years’ combination has proven to be a very special one, with great bonds formed within the whole tour group. With Ms Irina Lioubimovas’ extensive experience in chamber music repertoire, their chosen pieces have proved to bring out the best in all members of the group to provide a challenging and engaging performance.
Irina Lioubimova graduated as a Concert Pianist, Accompanist, Chamber Ensemble Musician and Piano Teacher from St Petersburg State Conservatoire. She Moved to Australia in 1992 and graduated from the Elder Conservatorium of Music in Adelaide with a Master of Music in Performance. Throughout her early career, Ms Lioubimova worked in Russia at various music schools as a piano teacher and accompanist and gained the prestigious role as repetiteur with the Bolshoi Theatre Choir and Ballet. During her time in Australia she worked at the Elder Conservatorium as a piano lecturer and accompanist for woodwind, strings and vocalists and for many years was the official accompanist for Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Ms Lioubimova is currently on staff at St Peter’s College as accompanist, piano teacher and the director of chamber music.
