Skanderborg Girls Choir
Denmark
Skanderborg Girls Choir consists of girls at the age of 15-19 years. The choir was established in 2001 by Alice Vestergaard. The repertory of the choir is diverse. The choir sing anything from Danish songs to classical works. As for the rhythmic line of the repertory there is jazz and popular music. The choir has also recorded four CDs . The choir has taken part in several competitions arranged by Interkultur, and has achieved several gold diplomas.
Alice Vestergaard and Freja Nørager
Conductor / Leader
Alice Vestergaard (b.1962) graduated from the conservatory in Jutland, Denmark in 1989. Alice Vestergaard has conducted Skanderborg Youth choir since 1986, and as I child she was a member of the choir herself. In 2001 she founded Skanderborg Girls choir, which she is still the conductor of, this last year together with her daugther, Freja Nørager. Freja Nørager (b.1995) is a a brand new conductor of Skanderborg Girls Choir. The international choir world has always played a huge part in her life. She is a passionate Educator, Composer and Singer and she is currently studying at The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, Denmark.
