The Children´s Choir of Pilsen has been working at the Elementary School of Art of Bedřich Smetana in Pilsen for 35 years and during this time the choir has gained a lot of recognition and awards at competitions and fesivals throughout the world. In the main choir there are 80 children from the age of 12 to 20 and the choir has also got three preparatory classes. Its repertoire consists of music of all possible kinds, famous melodies from musicals, folk songs of different countries as well as pieces of contemporary composers. The children´s choir has been cooperating with the Theatre of Josef Kajetán Tyl in Pilsen and Pilsner´s Symphony Orchestra for many years. In the recent years the choir has represented successfully the Pilsner region and the city of Pilsen at many foreign festivals, concerts and competitions. In 2007 the children´s choir of Pilsen accepted the invitation to the choir festival in French city Castelnaudary. In autumn of the same year the children´s choir hosted the children´s choir from the Bulgarian Burgas and in the spring 2008 it had the honor to visit Burgas and became the main guest of the festival. In March 2008 the Children´s Choir of Pilsen welcomed the japanese children´s choir from the city of Kitakyushu and they performed together. In addition to numerous concerts and competitions the children´s choir participated at the choir festivals in Poland, Holand, France, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and Slovakia. In 2015 the children´s choir arranged the international festival of choirs Musica Acalanthis. The children´s choir cooperated also with the children´s choir Cantemus from Regensburg and they worked together on the children´s opera Brundibar from Hans Krasa.
Ms Bedriska Kozeluhova is one of the leading personalities of the choir world and she’s been conducting for several decades now. In 2005 she accepted the leadership of Children choir of Pilsen that has been more and more successful since then, not only in the Czech Republic, but abroad as well. Her main talent is that she is able to keep singers enthusiastic about singing. Thanks to her sensibility to aesthetics and good choice of repertoire, all the performances have particular atmosphere and the audience is getting not only a great musical experience, but positive feelings too. Ms Kozeluhova’s life is full of music and she herself says: „Who can say: I am always singing at work?“
