The ensemble was founded in 2000. It has performed in its region, as well as in Lithuania and abroad too. „A Cappella“ performs pieces of different styles and from different eras – from Renessaince motets and madrigals or folk songs to contemporary pieces of Lithuanian and international composers. In 2003 „A Cappella“ was given „The nomination of Golden bird“ for the best debut. Then in 2005 - the first degree diploma in competition „Silver voices“, which was followed by its first CD „Musical date“ in 2006. The same year „A Cappella“ became the first degree diplomant of the international competition of the vocal ensembles in Riga. They have also participated in several competitions in Klaipėda, international competition „Vivace 2008“ in Hungary, international competition "Cantate Domino" in Kaunas, international competition "Tallinn-2011" in Estonia and international competition "Kaunas Cantat“ in 2014.
Violeta Zutkuviene (1963) is a choir conductor as well as a music teacher. In 1982 she graduated M. K. Ciurlionis Art School and in 1992 gained choir conductor and music teacher’s specialties at the Lithuanian Academy of Music. She started her choir conductor’s career in 1986 by conducting men choir “Aukstaiciai”. Since 1992 Violeta Zutkuviene has become a youth and mixed choirs leader and organist at Moletai St. Peter and Paul’s church. In 1996 - 2007 she was a conductor to a women quartette of Moletai Cultural centre. The quartette became the winner of the famous choir competitons not only in Lithuania but in Baltic countries too. Her most successful project is a mixed vocal ensemble “A Cappella” founded in 2000 which also became the winner of choir competitions such as “Golden bird” and “Silver voices” five times. Violeta Zutkuviene is a successful music teacher too. She taught at Utena musical school and currently she works at Moletai musical school. Since 2002 Violeta became a member of initiative group of annual sacred music festival which is organized at Moletai church.Back to the list of ensembles
