The Boulevard Harmonists is a 6-voice (mixed) a capella ensemble, celebrating good music and the joy of singing. The group's repertoire consists of classical music of different styles, as well as popular and folk music, including a number of South African works. The high standard of musicianship and wonderful music ensure events of pure musical charm and delight! The Boulevard Harmonists a Capella Ensemble was founded by and still is part of the North West University in Potchefstroom, South Africa. Since their inception they perform regularly in different parts of the world, and annually at the three major national art festivals in their home country. They have won two International Competitions for Smaller Ensembles, and their performances meet with wide acclaim, and excellent reviews and comment. Five CD’s have been released: Recital, Necessities, Tiempo, Monumental, and Project 4.

In his senior student years he was asked to join the university’s elite a capella singing ensemble, the Boulevard Harmonists. Kobus has a degree in music, and is today the official conductor of the North-West University Choir (winning two gold medals at the World Choir Games in Riga, 2014).
