Leão is an Associate Professor of the Music Department of the Macau Polytechnic Institute. She was appointed as a council member and adjudicator of the World Choir Games and is the Vice-President of the Executive Committee of the Macau Choral Arts Association and Macau Chorus Association, Council Member of the China Chorus Association, as well a member of the International Federation of Choral Music and the International Society of Music Education. Leão has been active as a choral conductor over the past twenty years and has been invited to conduct in different occasions such as Macau Handover Ceremony, Macau International Music Festival, Macau Arts Festival, China International Chorus Festival, Bejing Modern Music Festival and World Peace Choral Festival in Vienna, etc. She founded the Macau Polytechnic Institute Choir and Dolce Voce in 2005 and 2008 respectively and has been Music Director of the choirs since then. She was appointed as Music Director of Macau Cultural Center Children's Choir and Macau Perosi Choir as well.
