Mabelvale Middle School Chamber Singers

The Mabelvale Middle School Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Matthew N. Farr, is an auditioned group that consists of 7th and 8th grade students. This group has consistently received Superior ratings at Adjudicated Choral Festivals and Competitions. The Mabelvale Chamber Singers have performed at local Universities and Conferences such as Philander Smith College, Arkansas State University, and The Arkansas Music Educators Association Conference. In 2015, the group performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City, they also performed the National Anthem for the United States’ National Basketball Association. This group also performed in Orlando, Florida for Festival Disney where they were awarded Best in Class, Outstanding student accompanist, and Disney Gold. In 2020, the Mabelvale Chamber Singers will cruise to Cozumel, Mexico as the featured performance group on board.

Matthew Farr

Dirigent / Vedúci skupiny

Dr. Matthew Nicholas Farr recently completed his 5th year of teaching Choir and Orchestra, with all 5 years being at Mabelvale Middle School. Dr. Farr received his Bachelor of Arts in Instrumental Music and in Vocal Music in 2012 at the University of Central Arkansas. In 2014, he completed his Master of Science in Education Leadership, also at the University of Central Arkansas. In 2018, Dr. Farr completed Education Doctorate In Organizational Leadership at Grand Canyon University, in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2014, Dr. Farr received the Teacher of the Year Award. Dr. Farr believes that every student has a voice and what better way for their voices to be heard than through song? Since his debut in 2013, Dr. Farr has led his groups to 16 Superior Ratings and 1 Best in Class; More than 100 students to the All Region Choir; 8 in ACDA Honor Choirs; and numerous performance opportunities around the globe. Outside of the classroom, Mr. Farr enjoys his time with his wife Chandria, and daughter Kennedy.
