The Big Band was established very few years ago, within the context of the City’s Conservatory, and its youth wind orchestra Eighteen young musicians aged 13-18 years – religious and secular, old and new immigrants – are members of the Big-Band orchestra. The Big-Band orchestra performs in a variety of events, both inside and outside the City of Kiryat Ata, including Independence Day events, Big-Bands festivals around Israel and various municipal and national ceremonies’ and other well-known festivals in Israel. The Big-Band Orchestra has been participating in the Kfar Saba Annual Israel Festival for Wind-Instrument Orchestras. Some of the young musicians have participated – as part of the youth orchestra – outside if Israel. The Orchestra’s repertoire includes classical, jazz, modern, Israeli, Oriental and Jewish-Hassidic music pieces.
