Since 1890, the women’s choir enriched the cultural life of his homeland as a secular amateur choir. The choir organises its own concerts, or acts together with other choirs or ensembles. Periodically, the choir ventures into bigger projects. The women participated at festivals in Salzburg (2007) and Venice (2010), and presented Stabat Mater by Pergolesi in St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna (2013). For their 125th anniversary in 2015, they performed the St. John Passion by Johann Sebastian Bach in cooperation with singers of befriended choirs.
Jürgen Natter was born in 1981 in Feldkirch (Austria). He studied the organ, hapsichord, piano, and conducting at the conservatory in his hometown. He completed his studies under Professor Guy Bovet at the Musikhochschule Basel, Switzerland with expert studies for organ. Since then he has regularly performed as a soloist, chamber musician, improviser and conductor at home and abroad and has premiered numerous works. Duo partnerships with Sandra Schmid (clarinet), Jürgen Ellensohn (trumpet) and with the writer Robert Schneider. In 2009, Jürgen Natter founded the Rheintaler Bach-Orchester. Since 2011 he conducts the women's choir Frauenchor Altstätten (CH), is art director of the concert series Altacher Orgel Soireen (A) and works as church musician at the catholic Parish of St. Anthony to Diepoldsau (CH) since 2012. In 2014 he expanded his female choir to a large choral project, the Rheintaler Bach-Chor. During Holy Week 2015, this formation impressively debuted with the St John Passion by J.S. Bach.
