Gregorian group of the choir Assumpta

Choir „Assumpta” was founded at 2010. Name of choir „Assumpta” – translated from latin meaning – Mary is on high. Name of choir related with a place where it came. The choir ir formed by 40 in different age and occupation people that are happy to spend their free time singing. Since very beginning choir conductor is Ieva Lazdane. The choir successfully taken part in various events both in Latvia and aboard. Similarly choir often sing St. Masses in Aglonas basilica and other churches in Latvia and aboard. In preparation for the contest in Kaunas formed Gregorian chant group. The beginning of 2014 the choir won a Golden Diploma of Gregorian chant group competition „Kaunas Musica Religiosa”. It also prompted the choir to get to know and learn more of Gregorian music.
