A passionate hornist and conductor, Edith Tam is a founding member of the acclaimed Viva! Pipers, known for captivating and interactive performances in Hong Kong. She also founded Le Gai Ensemble, blending classical, pop, and jazz music with joyful accessibility and performing at prominent cultural events and venues. Her conducting career includes collaborations with numerous orchestras and organisations in Hong Kong and internationally. She has served as guest conductor, music director, and conductor for concerts, theatre productions, and charity events, and has participated in prestigious conducting masterclasses in Europe and Asia. Edith has collaborated with renowned conductors and leads conducting masterclasses to nurture the next generation of musicians. Since 2019, she has also conducted corporate leadership workshops through the Orchestrate! programme. Teaching is at the heart of Edith’s work. She teaches at several leading schools and universities in Hong Kong and co-founded the Nova Wind Orchestra and Solar Wind Ensemble in 2025, nurturing a love of music across generations.
