Rezekne city women´s choir "MEDICUS" has been established in 1967, currently consisting of 40 members aged from 18 to 60. Every year new secular and sacred music concert programs are being studied. Choral repertoire includes the higlights of Latvian classical choir music as well as contemporary Latvian choir music. The choir has participated in all Latvian nationwide song and dance festivals, performed in several churches and concert halls in Latvia and abroad (Poland, Lithuania, Czech Republic etc.). In 2010 the choir achieved the second place in the 6th International Choir Festival "Varsovia Cantat", which took place at the Music Academy of F. Chopin in Warsaw. In July of 2014 the choir participated in the Great Celebration Concert of the World Choir Games, which took place in Riga.
Anda Lipska - conductor of the choir since 2008; has graduated Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music, teaches choir subjects in Janis Ivanovs Rezekne Music Secondary School, is a conductor of several choirs and has been one of the Chief Conductors of the XXIII Latvian Nationwide Song and Dance Festival in 2003. And Ināra Skrule - conductor of the choir since 2000; has graduated Daugavpils Pedagogical Institute, works as a director deputy and teacher of music in Rezekne Secondary School No. 5, is a conductor of several ensembles and a boys´ choir
