Conductor, teacher and organizer of musical life Pavol Tužinský, graduated from the Conservatory in Žilina - violin and piano and then studied at the Music Academy in Bratislava - conducting and chamber music. His artistic career fluctuated between opera theater stage and concert stage. He started in the Opera Theatre in Bratislava. In 1989 he received an offer to Myron Theatre in Ostrava where he became its Chief Conductor. In 1991 he became the chief conductor of the State Opera in Banská Bystrica and the chief conductor of the Symphonic Orchestra of John Cikker with which they renewed music life in Banska Bystrica. During his tenure in the State Opera he has staged more than 30 works, many of them premieres in Slovakia and even world premieres. He is a frequent contributor to National Theatre Opera in Bratislava. In 2004 his musical opera by G.Verdi - Attila and J.Benes - The Players were considered by the critics as a theatrical event of the season. In Slovakia, He has worked with all major orchestral ensembles and institutions. Abroad, he performed in many European countries as well as in Israel, South Korea and Russia. He is pedagogically active, worked at the Academy of Performing Arts Bratislava, J.L. Bella Conservatory, Pedagogical Faculty of Matej Bel University. He is currently employed at the Faculty of Arts at the Academy of Performing Arts in Banska Bystrica. He is also significantly involved in the organization of various youth music activities across the country and often invited as a jury member to domestic and international competitions. He cooperates with the National Culture Centre in Bratislava, where he is a chairman of the advisory board for the activities of non-professional orchestras in Slovakia.
