Marymount Secondary School Choir
Hong Kong, China
The Marymount Secondary School Choir is a renowned female-voice ensemble of choristers aged 12 to 16. Since 2012, the choir has participated in international choral festivals, earning awards such as six prizes at the XII International Festival of Choral Art "The Singing World" (Russia, 2014) and First Place in the Youth Category at the Béla Bartók 27th International Choir Competition (2016). It has also received honors including the Best Conductor and Public Affection Award at the Grand Prix and the WYCCF Jebsen & Co. Choral Arts Youth Scholarship in 2015. Recognized as a "World Youth Choral Artist," the choir excels at the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, consistently winning championships in Chinese and Foreign Language categories and earning titles such as Best Girls' Choir and Most Outstanding Choir of the Year. Most recently, it won four Gold Medals in the 75th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival (2023).
Rani Fong
Conductor / Leader
Rani Fong is a passionate musician and educator committed to enriching lives through music. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Hong Kong, as well as a Master of Education in Education Management and a Master of Arts in Music Education (Performance) from The Education University of Hong Kong. Guided by renowned mentors, she has developed expertise in both choral and Chinese music. Fong has served as Head of the Music Panel at two of Hong Kong’s leading girls’ schools, Belilios Public School and Marymount Secondary School, advancing music education through her leadership. As the Manager and conductor of the Central and Western District Choir, she leads choristers aged 4 to 80, fostering a vibrant musical community. Under her guidance, the choir has earned championships and distinctions in numerous competitions. In recognition of her contributions, Fong was appointed as an Area Committee Member for the Yau Tsim Mong North Area by the Hong Kong Government’s Home Affairs Department in 2018-2024. She remains devoted to inspiring young musicians in Hong Kong and beyond, creating opportunities for them to excel and develop a lifelong passion for the arts.
