Oleksandra Diachenko

Conductor / Leader

Oleksandra Diachenko received her primary musical education in piano at the art school in the Ukrainian town of Polohy (2008-2016, Zaruba Z. M.). In 2020, she graduated in choral conducting with honours from the Zaporozhye Academy of Music named after P. I. Mayboroda (O. O. Bratseva; L. M. Synytsia). In 2019, she won 2nd place at the Open Competition of Choral Conductors of Ukrainian Music Universities in Dnipro, specializing in "Choral Conducting". In 2020 she joined the P. I. Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music of Ukraine at the Department of Choral Conducting (I. V. Shilova). A year later, together with Anastasia Zadyora as a piano duo, she received the main prize at the ACCORD International Music Competition. In 2022, again as a duo, they took the title of laureate and 1st place at the "Kiev Color" competition in the category "Instrumental genre". She also participated in the musical evening dedicated to the Ukrainian composer V. Kireyko. In 2022 Oleksandra Diachenko won the 2nd prize in the competition "Meeting over choral score 2022" in Banská Bystrica. In June 2023 she absolved a piano concert at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and in 2023 she successfully completed a course for choirmasters organized by the Regional Education Centre in Komárno. She founded the children's choir Happy Dreams and is co-organiser of the Ukrainian choral music project "Melody of the Heart: the magic of contemporary Ukrainian music". In 2024 she took part in a masterclass in conducting with Rolf Beck (Hamburg) at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. She is currently a student of choral conducting at the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (3rd year) and at the P. I. Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music of Ukraine in Kiev (4th year). Since 2024 she has been the second choirmaster of the children's choirs Sirénčiatka and Sirénčatá.
