The "Light of the Wings" Bayan Chamber Orchestra was founded in October 2021 as part of the Beijing No. 19 Middle School Educational Group. Mrs. Wang Yan, the founder of the ensemble, graduated from the Voronezh State Conservatory of Music in Russia under the tutelage of Maestro Skaryaryaryaryov. At present, the orchestra has more than 40 members. There are more than 30 Bayan players and 10 cello players, and the age of the members ranges from 6 to 9 years old. The orchestra is dedicated to cultivating the aesthetic upbringings of young students, enriching their cultural education, and nurturing a new generation of virtuoso musicians. "Light of the Wings" Bayan Chamber Orchestra has participated in and won gold medals for groups, and first, second and third prizes for individuals in many famous accordion competitions both at home and abroad, including "Pied Piper Cup", "Parrot Cup", "Tribute to Heroes", "CMA World Accordion Championships", and so on. In July, 2023, said orchestra was invited to Spain to participate in the 46th Spain-Lloret International Arts Festival & Contest, during which the orchestra won 8 awards, including the first prize of the group category and the first prize of the soloist category. The orchestra wishes to establish a long-lasting relationship with musical schools in Eastern European countries, in the hope of honing and refining orchestra’s musical skills; exchanging of the musical skills and cultures among the young musician students both in eastern Europe and China. The orchestra aims to enrich the extracurricular life of students, improve the comprehensive level of musical arts, enhance the knowledge of music theory and performing skills, and cultivate young students' musical ability of perception and artistic upbringing. By employing music as the medium, the orchestra would like to show the world the artistic ability, spiritual outlook and national characteristics of the Chinese youth.
