Established in 1983, our Symphony Orchestra has consistently showcased their musical prowess by actively participating in prestigious competitions such as the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival and the Hong Kong Youth Music Interflows, securing the championship multiple times. Their exceptional achievements include receiving the highly coveted Gold Award at the 2023 Hong Kong Youth Music Interflows. The Orchestra's dedication to musical excellence has taken them on remarkable international journeys, with performances, concerts, and competitions spanning across multiple regions such as Macau, Singapore, Japan, and Vienna. Their extraordinary talent earned them a Gold medal in the Junior Division at the International Youth Music Festival in Slovakia in 2015.
Kai Man Fung
Conductor / Leader
Fung Kai Man is one of the first graduates of the School of Music, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) and served as Principal Trumpet of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta for 17 years. He has taught at the Music Office, HKAPA and other institutes. He is now a tutor at the Macau Youth Symphony Orchestra. Over the years, Fung's students have won numerous prizes in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festivals. Some of his earlier students are now leading professional performers in Hong Kong. Fung served as Chairman of the Asian Pacific Band Directors Association from 2006 to 2008 and President from 2008 to 2010. He has also served as Chairman of the Hong Kong Band Directors Association (2006 - 2010), Vice-president of the China Trumpet Guild, Chairman of the Hong Kong Trumpet Guild. He is a consultant for the Trinity-Guildhall (Hong Kong).
