Tsing Yang Choir is initiated by National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) alumnus. In 2009, accompanied with NTHU Gleeclub, Tsing Yang Choir participated the “10th Vivace International Choir Festival 2009” in Hungary and won the best programme, the Award of the Jury. In 2014 and 2016, Tsing Yang Choir joined the 8th World Choir Games in Riga and Laurea Mundi Budapest, respectively, and won Gold Diploma and Silver Diploma in Folklore and Mix Chamber Choirs category. In 2019, Tsing Yang Choir won 1st Prize in both Church and Folk Singing categories in “Golden Voices of Barcelona”. Our goal is to share beautiful choir music from Hsinchu, the Wind City, to other cities and towns in Taiwan and overseas. We also expect to cooperate with those who love choir music.
Chin-Yu Yang graduated from the Department of Chinese Music at Taipei Hwa-Kang Arts School in 1992. She got the permission to enter the Department of Music in National Sun Yat-Sen University to proceed with her study majoring in vocal performance right at the same year. In order to explore more of vocal performance, she participated in the Choral Conducting summer program at the University of Queensland in Australia, and finished Master degree in the Music Department of Fu Jen Catholic University majoring in choral conducting. She is currently the music director of Yang In studio, and conducting numerous choirs across Taiwan, including Tsing Yang Choir, National Tsing-Hua University (NTHU) Glee Club, Mood-Inn Chorus, Yang In Children's Choir, Yang In Female Voice Choir, Yang In Mixed Choir, and Kuang-Ming Elementary School Choir. Chin-Yu Yang endeavors to combine chorus with other fields of art, and devotes her life to chorus training, promotion and performance. She spares no effort to organize charitable events, such as benefit concerts for nursing care centers, education and nursing institutes, Nan-Hui Hospital and aboriginal tribes. Her choirs have won numerous awards, including First Prize at the National Student Competition of Music in Taiwan with the NTHU Glee Club in 2013, 2007, 2005, 2004, and 2003; the Award of the Jury at the 10th Vivace International Choir Festival in Hungary in 2009 with the Tsing-Yang Choir, NTHU Glee Club, and Mood-Inn Chorus; and several accolades at the World Choir Games 2014 in Riga, Latvia, including Silver and Golden Diplomas with various choirs. In 2016, her choirs earned Silver and Golden Diplomas at Laurea Mundi Budapest, Hungary, and in 2019, they won multiple prizes at the Golden Voices of Barcelona, including First Prizes for Folk and Church singing.
