The Josip Vrhovski Choir from Nedelišće (Croatia) was founded in March 1998 with the primary goal of stimulating and promoting culture while preserving the ethno-heritage of its county and surrounding areas. Since its inception, the choir has been under the direction of Branimir Magdalenić, an academy music professor whose expertise and patient guidance have greatly contributed to its continuous development. Currently, the choir consists of approximately 40 singers spanning various ages and professions, ranging from students to retired individuals. Additionally, a Children's Choir operates within the ensemble. The choir has showcased its repertoire at numerous performances and competitions, and has been warmly received as guests in several foreign countries including Norway, Slovenia, Serbia, Hungary, Italy, Czech Republic, and Macedonia. It has consistently achieved high scores and received awards at national, regional, and international choir competitions. A highlight in the choir's calendar is its annual Christmas concert in Nedelišće, a tradition cherished by musicians, orchestral players, soloists of commercial music, and a devoted audience who eagerly attend year after year. In recognition of its exemplary work and outstanding achievements, the Choir has been honored with the highest county recognition, the Zrinski Award, and the Nedelišće Municipality Plaque. These accolades celebrate the choir's dedication to preserving and presenting the musical legacy of the renowned Croatian composer, music pedagogue, and conductor Josip Vrhovski, in whose honor the Choir proudly carries its name.
Branimir Magdalenić is a music pedagogue, conductor, and choirmaster of the singing choir "Josip Vrhovski" Nedelišće since its foundation.
