The women's chamber choir Les Sirènes was established in 2018 at the “Milosrdní bratia“ hospital and monastery. Transitioning into an independent ensemble in 2019, it was founded, directed, and artistically led by Lukáš Kunst. The choir's repertoire boasts an extensive range, encompassing various types and genres of music. Slovak and Czech compositions feature prominently, including works by Suchoň, Hrušovský, Špilák, Dvořák, Martinů, Eben, Janáček, among others. Additionally, Les Sirènes performs classic choir repertoire alongside numerous musicals and pop pieces. Renowned for its interpretative quality, intonation, rhythmic precision, and musicality, the choir has garnered acclaim through its participation in international choral competitions. Notable achievements include a gold award and victory in its category at the 2018 International Choir Competition Bratislava Cantat II, followed by gold at the Slovakia Cantat competition in 2022. The choir also secured a golden medal at the 49th Svátky písní – International Choir Festival Olomouc in the same year. In 2023, Les Sirènes clinched two gold medals at the aforementioned competition in Olomouc. Moreover, the choir collaborates with various instrumental ensembles such as The Haydn Chamber Orchestra, The Ensemble Band, The House Band of Les Sirènes, The Ladies Ensemble, and Hilaris Chamber Orchestra, as well as with soloists like Dominika Hanko, Sisa Sklovská, Otokar Klein, Peter Mikuláš, Pavol Kubáň, Martin Gyimesi, David Árva, Eva Dovcová, and others. Since 2022, Les Sirènes have been closely collaborating with the Bratislava-Staré Mesto municipality.
Lukáš Kunst stands as the founder, choirmaster, and artistic director of Les Sirènes.
