Aarhus Girls Choir

In August 2023, this choir adopted the name Aarhus Pigekor from its older 'sister' at Aarhus Music School. However, the choir was originally founded as Det Jyske Musikkonservatoriums Pigekor by its former conductor in 1986 as an educational choir where students at the Conservatory could practice choir conducting for children's and youth choirs. The choir gradually established itself as an ambitious choir for young singers through its portfolio of activities, ranging from numerous concerts to participating in large events in Denmark and abroad. AAP consists of 25-30 girls aged 13-19 years. The choir has participated in several projects with Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, performing classical works, and with Aarhus Jazz Orchestra. Additionally, it has participated in scenic productions and operas. In its long history, the choir has also been very active in traveling abroad on tours or to participate in festivals and competitions, as well as visiting or hosting other choirs for exchange projects and collaborations.
