The ensemble was created in 2013 with the support of the city administration represented by its director Itzik Edri. Initially, the group was conceived as a classic big band of 18 musicians plus a conductor. The repertoire was based on classical compositions of the legendary world jazz music, such as Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Louis Armstrong and others. Gradually, the repertoire expanded, there was music for films, swing, pop, rock, Israeli music, Latin and modern. The musical possibilities of the band also expanded, the conductor added new colors to the classical composition: flute, oboe, clarinet, xylophone and others. Thus, the classic big band was reformed into a jazz orchestra and received new opportunities for playing music. Soloists, vocalists and vocal groups have been added. In the period from 2013 to the present day, the ensemble has been a regular participant in the cultural events of the city and the country. Almost every year he travels to competitions and festivals around the world. In 2017, the ensemble took 2nd place at the international competition, which was held in Bratislava, Slovakia. He also took part in the festival in Schladming, Austria. In 2019, the ensemble was selected from 250 candidates and went to represent the country at the festival and parade of orchestras in South Korea.
