Armonia Choir from Baia Mare Romania was founded in 2001 and in 2005 the Associacion “Friends of Harmony” was registered. In more than 500 concerts performed in 14 countries around the world, they sang both lay and religious songs from Romanian and international creation. The choir has 2 conductors, Mihaela Bob Zaiceanu and Adrian Iercosan and 45 members. In 2016 Armonia Choir won the Silver Medal at Sochi World Choral Games at accapella folklore category. Starting 2011 through the association the choir is the organiser of “Liviu Borlan International Choral Contest Festival”.
Adrian Iercosan, second conductor of Armonia Choir, graduated Gh. Dima Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca in 1999, now working as a music teacher at a National College in Baia Mare. Other experience related activities: conductor of the church choir of St. Andrew’s church in Baia Mare; double bass player collaborating with various local folklore ensembles; initiator and coordinator of the school band from the workplace’s college.
