The Schola Resupina was founded in Vienna in 2004 by Isabell Köstler. It is the schola's mission to express the treasure of Gregorian Chant in its abundance and to make the Word heard in its full significance. To get as close as possible to a medieval interpretation of the words, the schola's work is based on the newest research in Gregorian Chant and Semiology (the science of musical symbols in Gregorian Chant). In an in-depth re-hearsal process, the singers work their way through to their interpretation of words, and seek to internalize them, always with the goal to let their audi-ence experience the messages of these medieval chants both, in a reflected way and through direct experience. The ensemble has gained international recognition through numerous con-certs in the Vienna inner city churches, concert tours within Austria, and to Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Hungary and Greece, as well as invitations to concert series and festivals such as Styriarte, Neuberger Kul-turtage, International AISCGre Kongress, Les Dimanches du chant grégo-rien des Cube 521, International Chorale Festival Watou/Belgium, Interna-tional Chorale Festival Vác/Hungary, Chorale Festival Gregorian Medita-tions/Bratislava, Neuberger Kulturtage, Klangraum St. Fidelis/Stuttgart, Wib-linger Basilikakonzerte, Deutscher Katholikentag, VOCuMENTA, Alte Musik St. Ruprecht/Vienna, Kreuzgangkonzerte der Dominikaner/Vienna musica delicata, Vienna Organ Concerts, Lange Nacht der Musik in the St. Ste-phan` s Cathedral in Vienna, Lange Nacht der Kirchen in St. Peter/Vienna,. They regularly perform in a liturgical context in Vienna's inner city churches, as well as in the Cathedral St. Georg/Wiener Neustadt, including TV broad-casts. On every 3rd Sunday of the month, the Schola sings in the Latin High Mass at St. Peter's Church/Vienna. At the 58th International Choral Competition "Concorso Polifonico Interna-zionale Guido ́d Arezzo" in Italy, Schola Resupina was awarded the best schola prize of both sections: of the Christian monody „Rassegna“ and „Concerto“. Their discography includes the CDs "Faciem Domini", "Canticum amantis-simi" and "Hildegard von Bingen".
