Värmlands Nations Kör (VNK) is a Swedish student choir based in Uppsala, a city with an old academic history and a rich culture surrounding it. The choir originated in the late 1800’s and through the years it has gained a reputation of being one of the most prominent among all student choirs in Uppsala. Today VNK is a sought after entertainment both among students, organizations and companies such as Uppsala University and UKK – Uppsala Concert and Congress Center. The choir has around 60 members, all students at Uppsala University. Most singers have a thorough choir experience and many have been studying music and choral singing at primary school and high school. VNK’s repertoire consists mostly of classical choir music, but also contemporary works, both Swedish and international. VNK has worked in coalition with other European choirs and orchestras, has been on tour in Denmark and been competing in Ireland, and has also made live radio performances.
