»Reppe Blandakor« was founded in June 1944 when 10 young people with a strong desire tosing met at Ranheim. January 1st 1947 the choir held its first concert in Ranheim Church with 115 people present. Today the choir consists of about 60 members, and today's conductor, Bjørn Sigurd Skjelbred, has done the job with great empathy and enthusiasm since 1997. Throughout the years, the choir has participated in regular concert activities of various kinds, regional, national and a few international choir competitions. And the choir is known for itsself-made music and cabaret performances. The choir participates annually in national festivals and occasionally international festivals, such as in Budapest, Dublin, Barcelona and Callela. A very good international result was achieved in October 2014 when the choir participated at the Canta Al Mare Festival in Calella, with a score that gave Gold Level 2 in the class Pop. The choir has a very varied repertory, ranging from church music, folk songs and popular music to jazz-inspired tunes.
Bjørn Sigurd is educated vocal teacher at Trøndelag Music Conservatory. In addition to directing “Reppe Blandakor”, he also is the conductor of “Jonsvatnet Sangkor’’ and the lady choir “Hedda”.
