Mixed choir of Tallinn Secondary School of Science

In the 2017/2018 season, the Mixed Choir of Tallinn Secondary School of Science consists of 58 singers. Every season the choir performs two full-length concerts, one at Christmas and one at spring time, in which the choir’s soloists and ensembles participate as well. In addition, numerous performances take place during the school year at school events and celebrations. Throughout the choir’s existence it has participated in all Estonian Song Festivals and almost all national youth mixed choir competitions. In the past 10 years the choir has been awarded 5 First Places. In 2008 the Mixed Choir of Tallinn Secondary School of Science was awarded the title “Choir of the Year” by the Estonian Choir Union. The choir has performed internationally in Finland, Sweden and Hungary. The »Slovakia Cantat« is the first international choir contest the choir will participate in.
Ms Eve Karp
Conductor / Leader
Eve Karp has conducted the Mixed Choir of Tallinn Secondary School of Science since 1977. She graduated from the Tallinn State Conservatory in 1978 as a music teacher and choir conductor. In 2002 she earned an MA degree in music education. Eve Karp has worked as a music teacher, choir conductor and soloists/ensemble instructor at the Tallinn Secondary School of Science for 40 years. In addition, she was a lector and a supervisor in training student teachers at the Institute of School Music of the Estonian Music and Theatre Academy from 1991 – 2009.
