Tamburitza orchestra of the Albert Štriga Križevci Music school was founded in 1978. This orchestra can be proud of its numerous performances, where it best presented its work and the work of the School, regardless if it performed in Križevci, other parts of Croatia or abroad. However, the most significant are the performances at local, county, state or international competitions and festivals. One should single out the performances at the Festival of Croatian tamburitza music in Osijek, where the Orchestra has regularly been present since 1987 and where it has since 1993 up to the present day been awarded 22 golden plaques. From 1993 Tamburitza orchestra regularly participate at competitions of students and university students of music, achieving significant results and obtaining praise for their performances. Orchestra had numerous performances abroad, participated at the European music festival for youth in Belgium town of Neerpelt, where it won the first prize in 1999 and in 2009 (1999 summa cum laude, and 2009 cum laude), in 2000 in Portugal at the 8th festival Gaia 2000, and at the Yuong Prague festival in 2014 where it won Grand prix. Besides the prizes won at festivals and competitions, Tamburitza orchestra was also awarded the Golden plaque of the Town of Križevci (1993) and the Prize for contribution to reputation and promotion of Koprivnica-Križevci county home and abroad (2000). Members and directors of Tamburitza orchestra of the Albert Štriga Križevci Music school invested a significant amount of effort, knowledge and time, setting a bright example to all youth that effort, practice and dedication pave the way to outstanding results.
Igor Kudeljnjak is music professor, tambura teacher, conductor and mentor of Albert Štriga Music School Tambura Orchestra and Tambura Chamber Ensemble since 2010. He graduated at University of Zagreb Academy of Music and he is engaged at the Croatian Radiotelevision Tambura Orchestra. He won many significant prizes and awards with those ensembles, in Croatia and abroad. At the Young2014Prague Festival he won Special award for conductor excellence, Ministry of Science, Education and Sports Commendation for excellent results in work with students (2010, 2011, 2013) and Prize for contribution to reputation and promotion of town Križevci home and abroad (2015). He is involved in the organization of various music festivals and in civil society associations.
