The vocal group Vokalna skupina Osnovne šole Toneta Čufarja Maribor consists of the children from 6th to 9th grade of the Primary school Toneta Čufarja Maribor; the singers are between eleven and fifteen years old. The group participates at school events, as well as other events in their community, the city of Maribor and other Slovenian cities. Last year the group attended the festival of Russian children songs where they received the 1st prize in the category of choirs. Every year they sing at the choir event of their area and this year they are going to attend the regional competition. This summer they are also going to sing at the biggest music festival in Slovenia The Choir Boom 2017 which is going to take place at the stadium Stožice in the capital city. There will be about 10000 young singers singing together with the symphonic orchestra and the soloists.
Kerstin Pori graduated in 2013 at the Faculty of Education; Music Pedagogy. During her studies, she already sang in various successful choral ensembles, and founded her girls’ choir Aglaja, which today achieves national and international success. She has already received awards for the best conductor of the competition and promising conductor for her choral work at three competitions. Kerstin has been teaching the subject of Musical Arts from 5th to 9th grade at the Primary school Toneta Čufarja Maribor for the third year where she has been leading 4 singing ensembles: 2 children's choirs, a youth choir and a vocal group with whom she regularly attends the choir events of their area, competitions and festivals.Back to the list of ensembles
